I need to change my freeze plug for my 1997 Chevy venture van. And I need to know how because the transmission is in the way. Because when I put water in my radiator it pours water out of the back of the motor

Buy BRASS freeze Plugs (First Pic)
Pull the Freeze Plug Out. (Second Pic)
Use a Sealant or Locktite (3rd Pic)
Drive in with a Socket (4th Pic)
You need to pull the Freeze Plug out, clean the Block to ensure that is will seal in there good, Take a New Freeze Plug and a Socket. Then you want to seat the CURVED SIDE INWARD (The Bottom the of the Cup Inwards)....
But I can't get to my block with the motor that's in it without taking the whole motor out
First... Are you sure it is a Freeze Plug? Second.... Can it be something else? If you have never done this, then you may need to be referred to a professional mechanic

If you are Careful, you can use a method of Leverl and Wedge, you have to be very careful when doing it but ir works in tight spaces....You need a Piece of Worrd and a 36 Inch Pry Bar... There is also another way of using a 10 Ton Porta Power. These ways in tight spaces....

Ok ok have to try that but I gotta find the hole first cause on my motor everything is soooo close together and you can't see anything

the bottom boult is hard but can be done need to use a 10 or 12 stubby wrench and take a pry bar and lighty pry heat shild away to get bottom bolt dont need to take it out all the way just loosen and slide down

mmmmmmmm they are really hard to replace but most likelly is goin to be a intake gasket, i do recomend you to call arrown the auto repairs and ask for a pressure test to the cooling system
this test is not that expensive and will tell you exactly where is the leak coming from, but on this type of vehicles i badly see a freeze plug leaking.

no you dont need a special tool you have to take the throttle body off it makes it sooooooo much more simple.

Make sure you have gotten all the air out of the system by running the car with the cap off for a bit.. also make sure the radiator overflow if at proper level.. next look at your radiator and see if it is plugged up with trash bugs what ever this will slow your cooling big time.. also look between your radiator and your air condition condensor and make sure its clean also there can be trash in there causing it to heat .. also check belts make sure they are tight.. really sounds like you started with air in system and system might be air locked needing to run a bit with cap off when cool. dont take cap off when hot ... make sure over flow is full also... thanks and holler if you need more.
