If the temp gauge is going full on then likely you have a short which is causing the gauge to see full volts.. is the car cranking or just acting like battery is flat - might be a bad earth on the battery or chassis

You need an owners manual or access to factory
manuals to find out how many fail safes your vehicle has

Example: Electronic Throttle Control
Engine Over Temp
Transmission Failsafe
Misfire Fail safe to protect converter

Once you have checked for codes which I assume you have
done long ago,you use them as well as trouble charts to
diagnose things

2004 RANGE ROVER IS IS ENGINE FAISAFE MODE AND IS NOT STARTING

I answered your other same question

If you have to add coolant,it had to go somewhere
as no fluids are consumed

So you have serious problems like a bad coolant
leak or bad head gasket if no visible leak can be found

You need a repair shop

No one can guess & help you from the internet

Repairs have to be made then know how to get out
of fail safe if that applies

That job will required factory reference material to
understand the problem & diagnose it

While driving my 2004 Range Rover HSE the vehicle goes into engine failsafe mode. I check under the hood and find a melted electronic thermostat wire. I have replaced both the wire and thermostat, but the...

It depends on what you mean by electronic thermostat wire. I assume you have the L322 Range Rover with the BMW M62 4.4 litre V8 petrol engine. It has a heater in the coolant thermostat which causes the thermostat to open further when the engine gets too hot.. The wiring to this often fails due to coolant leakage into the cable. Disconnecting it will make no difference to the running of the engine. (On mine, it has been disconnected due to corrosion).

does your car have auto climate control or manual ?? if manual most likely you have a vaccum leak ..this is # 1 problem for failsafe mode ..start by listening to your engine while it is running with the hood open and listen for a hissing sound..(check pcv hose and elbow)

Car goes into failsafe mode; codes p2110 and p2107

Bad ignition coil, spiking the PCM,spike comes back on TPS Sensor, then to PCM again, putting the car into ETC Failsafe, and you can only go 6 MPH.

If the coils are not the issue, then the 2110 & 2107 come into play, and you spend $700,00 just for a new throttle body. The motor in it is not replaceable as of 2010,may be some day
In that case you better put it on yourself. Only (4) 10mm bolts, but you have to drain a little coolant,as it goes thru the throttle housing

Failsafe engine mode light comes on, codes

Just a quick mention - for about a month my XK8 low coolant light came on intermittently. This week with no notice while driving normally I got Stability Control Fail and FailSafe Engine Mode and wtih great difficulty got the car back to where I started from (less than a mile). Two days later (when got time) and after a bit of research, I tried it again - same problem and a very unhappy engine. I then disconnected the battery for 15 minutes (probably more) to clear the engine codes as well as check all the wiring and vacuum stuff I could under the hood (at a Jaguar master mechanic's recommendation). No problems found but the car would start and immediately stall with the air intake hose disconnected from the intake butterfly. After I reconnected the air intake hose, she started and purred like normal. The problem is the BATTERY... It is low - I've known it for a LONG time BUT it always started right up and never skipped a beat. I intend to replace it tonight but fully expect that's the issue. I've had the car 6 years (it's a 98) and had NO problems except a dead taillight asembly.

Hope this is of value...
