unfortunately your cylinder's guts exploded in the cylinder housing and you will need to replace both now

1. Try an online auto computer rebuilder. The problem is the Eprom is set to a specific number for the switch. The number of the new switch has to reprogrammed. The only other work around is to obtain a matching computer and switch. If the individual chip is not soldered in you could send it out to be flashed mail order.

***As per Haynes Manual for your Vehicle*** Warning: if your vehicle is equipped with a suplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system, always disengage airbags before working in the vicinity of the sterring wheel to avoid accidental deployment of airbags.
1. disconnect the negative cable at the battery
2. Remove the steering wheel if it interferes with the access to the steering column covers on your vehicle. Remove the steering column covers.
3. Unplug the wires from the ignition switch, remove bolts and lift the switch off the steering column.
4. Installation os the reverse of removal.

Hi! Does it even crank? I strongly suggest that you replace the ignition coil as a first course of action. If it's worn you'll have a no start result. Good luck on this. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!
