Pacifica sunroof & a-pillar leaking

Have 2006 Pacifica. Due to water leaking from a pillar and sunroof, I checked out two drain holes on driver and passenger side. There were no drainage problems on both sides. However, I found out there is a small crack on the front side of the middle rubber seal surrounding sunroof. Is it designed originally with that kind or comes from long term usage?

It sounds to me that your problem is above the headliner. There are drain tubes at each corner of the sunroof pan that allow water to drain under an outside of the vehicle. It sounds like one of the front tubes has either cracked, come off, or are just plugged up and allowing the water to overflow the pan.

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler Pacifica-Air conditioning leak

The 05/04 Pacifica did not come with an elbow tube on the drain line for the AC drip pan. As you drive, the air flow into the tube pushes the condensate water back into the pan which is inside above the passenger floor board, the drain line is under the hood on the firewall. I spoke with the parts guy at the local Chrysler dealer, he sold me a drain tube for the 06 (~$10) and I installed it, wasn't too hard to do from the top if the engine is cold. The elbow slips on over the drain tube. Make sure to point the tube down. It only took one trip to start seeing water drip out of the tube and the floorboard started to dry up and almost three years later, the floorboard is still dry.

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler Pacifica passenger doors have no power

If your alarm went off, it could be that someone had tried to break into your car. They most likely may have cut some of the wires inside your door with what ever device they may have been using. Look for evidence between the bottom of the windows and doors where the problem is. If not, then it is possible that your automatic window assemblies are malfunctioning. Do you hear the motors run on the windows when you go up or down with the switch? I also have a Pacifica, 2005, however no window problems yet.

Good Luck,

Ray

SOURCE: Power door lock inoperable on passenger sliding door only

Not sure if they are same on 2006 but there should be a couple of small rounded metal contacts, or similar, on door that meet with door post to complete the connection. When you find them, clean them off with a little fine steel wool or SOS pad, minus the soap, and see if that doesn't cure it.

SOURCE: 1996 Chryslser Sebring Convertible leaks on left side from rain

Water goes between the front and rear window and is supposed to go through a trough and drain out of the bottom of the car. often the drains along the bottom (4 very small slits) get clogged and water will back up into the floorboards. just drive a flat head screwdriver in these slits and it will let the water out! (watch out about 2 gallons came out of mine!)

Testimonial: "Thanks for the excellent advice! Now we know how to deal with the water problems in our Sebring!"

SOURCE: 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. Passenger side window problem.

HAVEK 1005 sounds right on track.... but also try this, usually works well for non functional power windows, specially Caravans.

NO COST PROCEDURE TO FIX IT:

1. Sit in vehicle, on seat next to problematic window
2. Ignition key is on
3. Door in question is opened (in case you closed it)
4. While door is open, press and hold power window button in desired window travel, keep button pressed !!
5. SLAM hard the door closed with one hand while other hand holds button as per #4.
6. Watch window operate as it should.
7. Repeat 3-6 if necessary, but usually the first try works!

NOW, for the naysayers that says you must replace power window motors etc, at $$$ cost because the above fix does not work, or is not long lasting fix, or less than a "professional fix".... Well then, when the window fails to operate again, apply same fix again at that time.

I have fixed my van this way numerous times (usually once a year), and to all local friends I recommend this fix too, likewise do the same and are happy with the solution.

'06 Chrysler Pacifica w/sunroof: When it rains water is leaking out of the front door frame covers and sun visor screws. (Sun roof is closed.)

hi i'm not familar with your car but if you can wind the sunroof back so the sunroof is fully open look at all four corners where the sunroof sits into there should be at least 2 drain holes which can over time become clogged with debris, if you find them use some warm water and flexi pipe to clean the drain holes out. hope this helps

Where is the sunroof drain located on 2002 monte carlo ss and how do i unclog it?

Water leaks are fun to trace out. the drain holes and tubes can be seen with roof open and can be unplugged with compressed air . but usually the headliner is soaked and leaks on to seats the windshield will leak on to passenger floor. remove glove box and check for wetness along "A" pillar.

2006 H3, leaking rain water in on back seatbelts

GM had a major problem with this issue as models with sunroofs had drain holes that were mfr'd too small. On models without sunroofs, the drains behind the pillars were too small creating the wet/mildewy/dampness issue. All mods were at the expense of the consumer. However if you know a good body and fender man, they can perform this mod for a fairly decent price with excellent results.

2005 Volvo S80, I have water leaking into the car on passenger side, I assume sunroof drains as that seems to be a major problem with these cars... I removed the A pillar cover and there is no drain line...

if the rain drops are falling on your head , it is unlikely that it will be the sun roof
more likely door drain holes blocked or plastic covering that covers all of the holes in the door has not been replaced allowing the water into the car behind the trim
another point for water is blocked drain for the ac evaporator box so check that hose as well

20006 saturn ion water in floor board

The drains are in the wheel wells. You have to remove the plastic panel in the wheel well. Pour some water in the sunroof drain area you'll see it come out a little rubber nipple. Take a razor and cut off a little of the end of the nipple so water flows easily out. They are closed and the water pressure isn't enough to open fully and the water backs up and leaks inside.

I have water coming in on driver side. It sometimes pours out the screw that holds sun visor and also were roof meets the side panel in front of door. I have a 2005 Mercury Montego. Where would water be...

Hi,
Looks like your sunroof drainage hoses are blocked, due to dirt and dust.
On that sunroof corners have these drain holes, water passes thru those holes and a hose attach to it. It will lead the rain/water to the side and to the bottom of the window/windshield pillar.
Those drain holes are already blocked that's why its over filling that area with water.
Get a flexible bicycle cable and insert it to those holes and pour a little amount of water w/ laundry soap, until the water flows out.
Hope that helps you out.
Thanks for asking FixYa!

I've got a 2006 Saturn Vue that keeps getting water in the front, under the floor mats. It appears to be coming from the center underneath and behind the instrument cluster/center console. Could this be...

The most common source of water on the floor is a plugged a/c evaporator case drain hose. This drain is generally located down low on the engine side of the firewall at the passenger side and is usually a small short open ended hose that points down. Debris and bugs will clog this hose which makes the water that condenses on the evaporator [whenever the a/c is on] overflow and leak out of the heater/air conditioning housing and onto the floor. If it hasn't rained for some time yet you are still getting water on the floor I would bet on this hose being plugged. A puff of compressed air is enough to clean most of them out. Most sunroofs have one or two small drain holes that allow water to run down through the door pillars and onto the ground. If you pour a small amount of water around the top edges of the sunroof when it is closed you should soon see water dripping onto the ground under the outer edge of the vehicle. A few sunroofs just rely on tight weather stripping to keep the water out but those usually drip water on the driver or passenger if they are leaking. I see a lot of leaky windshields but again, it has to be raining for water to get on the floor from them.

Water problems front drivers side on floor everytime it rains cannot find leak does anybody have any previous problems or suggestions to find the water source

If you have a sunroof, the drain tube on the driver's side A-pillar is probably blocked or disconnected form the sunroof drain.
