Check your brake light switch on the brake pedal, more than likely thats where the problem is, when pedal is push down, the plunger on the switch is released to turn lights on, when you let up off the pedal the plunger gets push in by the pedal to wich its mounted, which inturn shuts the lights off. do you see how its suppost to work ? thats the only switch for your brakes , soooo yours is backwards correct ? must need re-mounted in its proper location........... OK

SOURCE: i have a 1992 nissian altima. the gas pedal wont work

that is part of the throtle linkage, the plastic ends wear out, replace that arm, you may have to get from the dealer.

How to change alternator on 2008 nissian altima

For a V6 altima easiest way is to remove the radiator. Altenator is on the front of the engine at the bottom. With the radiator out of the way can fit it out. Ususal atuff for the altenator. Disconnect the battery. Loosen the belt to remove it. The unplug connector and the 12mm bolt for the output. Then unbolt altenator to remove. Will not be able to fit it out without removing radiator

I bought 20 inch rims for my 2011 altima and ever since my parking break warning light comes on even though the parking break is not applied

When you added larger rims you've also added more weight. you could be setting the electronic censers in to overdrive plus make sure you double check that the tires are not rubbing a wire loom. if the rim offset is wrong you could be causing bearing tilt witch will make park censer to trigger.

I have a 1992 Altima that has break lights that won't turn off unless I disconnect the battery. Do you think that this is a ground wire?

No check your brake light switch, could need adjusting, follow brake paddle up under dash, switch will hook up to it.Adjust it in or out, till switch hit brake paddle arm, the button on the switch is push in, brake light will be off, till you apply brakes then it will come on.

My 20074 Nissan Altima 3.5 will not start. The dash lights and fan will come on but it will not start.

I had the same problem with my 2007 altima I took it to the dealership and they said it was the switch in the break. They said that when the witch goes out it does not recognize that you are pressing the brake pedal down so the engine will not start. My extended just ran out so I had to pay $130 to get it fixed.

1998 nissian altima engine floods at random

gosh, nissan spent 6 million dollars replacing faulty/leaking fuel injectors around that time ...maybe its worth a trip down to the dealer and do a campaign/recall search on your car...might be a car that was covered under that campaign and you might get injectors covered

Oil and white smoke come from the tailpipe. it sputters and does not have a lot of power. is this cause there is water in the oil?

I would take the car straight to the dealer.
There is a Nissian technical bulletins out for this engine and Nissian has extended coverage for the engine. The engine has internal damage and Nissian is well aware of the issue.
