I cannot find a service manual in the car. Can i get an electronic copy from anybody? Also, can anybody look at the manual and tell me what it meant.

If you mean that the oil light was illuminated on the dash, it means the vehicle has no oil pressure, or it is dangerously low. You should check the oil level immediately, and if it is full, you should have a mechanic look at it. It cannot be run or driven if the oil light is on! Being a 2008 I would assume it is under warranty, atleast the 60 month 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. The old Tundra 4.7 engines had problems with the oil pressure sending units, but I havent seen any new trucks with that problem, and no service bulletins.

2004 Chrysler Pacifica. The oil light keeps coming on, I had the oil changed & it still comes on.

When you say the "oil light," do you mean the light that says "Change oil" or are you seeing the red light that indicates low oil pressure?

screenshot 2024-03-14 153450-undefined-undefined-0.jpgIf you're seeing that red light, that likely means you have low oil pressure and should stop driving immediately, until the problem is diagnosed and repaired.

It's also possible to see the oil pressure light on when there's no issue with oil pressure, if the oil pressure sender has failed or there's a connection problem.

If the oil light you're referring to is the "change oil" light, you will need to manually reset it for it to disappear. Here's how (from Chrysler):

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position (do not start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal, slowly, three times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF/LOCK position.
NOTE: If the indicator message illuminates when you start the engine, the oil change indicator system did not reset. If necessary, repeat these steps.

Oil Lamp Indicator in instrument panel stays lit (1997 Camery)

I would go back to Walmart and have them fix it for free. I suspect it's a bad oil filter. If you hear engine knocking or noise, don't drive vehicle.

1988 VW Fox Indicator Light - Rear

These old models of Fox's are just that old. I have been told that the engine light goes on due to the lack of oil pressure in the car. The valves apparently get worn out and create a lower pressure that the oil will pass through them...therefore sometimes this registers as an engine light going off every now and again. However, my mechanic has told me that these old german cars are like tanks and can run on and on and on....on lesser than normal oil pressure in the engine. Keep it well maintained and watch for any abnormal or steady warning lights. My mechanic says don't take the car any farther away than I would chance a tow ride back. If that is a hint or what! Lol.

Small green light

I believe that's the low beam headlight indicator. The circle w/ lines going to on side is the highbeam indicator. You can download your owners manual from Toyota.

Oil level gauge

that sounds like its not a oil level gauge at all. it sounds like a oil psi indicator. when you accelerate your oil psi increases. same when the engine is cold. this is a normal thing that trucks and every vehicle for that matter do. my truck has a oil psi indicator and it does exactly what yours does.
