When I cut the wheel all the way to the right or left and try to accelerate.
i.e. u turns or backing out of my drive way. I notice it less when it's really cold outside.
I thought it might be a strut
The Impreza is 4 wheel drive, i assume that you have the ability to out the car into 2wd? Usually these cars that dont have a true 4wd system the gearing in the rear wheels doesnt allow you to do U-turns or any tight turn. What happens is the inner wheel shudders as it is spinning just as fast as the outside wheel. I had a 98 subaru and the owners manual was specific in saying dotn do U-turns etc.
Good luck!
