look around the car on each door, you will see a small black switch on which the door shuts on. This switch when open brings on the light and bell. Go around and check by pushing each one of these in. This should stop the light/chime. It works on what is called an open circuit, if you check each of the sensors and the problem persists, then one of the sensors may be faulty or their is a broken wire somewhere in the circuit. For the mean time to stop your battery going flat, remove the interior light globe.
Sounds silly but this is how i fixed my bell ringing. !st the ringing is the alarm when you open the door and the key is in the ignition or the car is running. I found the push switches that are on the side of the car and are operated when the door is shut have become loose. All you need to do is tighten them up a bit and the bell ringing will stop. When you make your right turn you probably push a bit on the door and that helps open the switch more. The switches are the contact switches that turn on the light as well as the warning sensors for open door. See if your dome lights flicker a bit as well.
You need a door pin switch in the drivers door. It must have gone bad, and this is very common. Usually it is hard to find out what door it is that is causing it, but in your case with the dinging bell- it thinks the drivers door is open- thast why the dome light stays on. The door pin switch is a little sensor that is installed on the latch assembly with a wire going to it and it is supposed to sence if the door is open or closed and turn the dome light on/off. you have to remove the door pannel and reach back to the latch. They are VERY tricky to get out without taking the whole latch assembly out. The part shouldnt be that expensive though.
You need to unplug the door harness one at a time to locate which door is causing the problem. Once the door is located, you can replace the switch which is located on the lock mechanism.
Hey Wizz, Have you checked the "closed door" plungers? My neighbor had the same problem. I found it to be the drivers side plunger. The plastic retaining ring had broken, leaving the curcuit open. Being two months later, I hope you have found it. I drove it a half mile...... It was like Chinese water torture. AHHHHHHHHHHH!
the lights are most likely the third brake light on the decklid... small line of led brake lights small unit.. i would clean the ignition switch with some quick start and cycle the key in and out to clean up the contact on the bottom some times soda or coffe gets in there and makes the car think that the cars key is in the ignition
is there any type of check engine light on or any type of warning light is the sound of the bell the same bell sound when you open your door or seatbelt warning
