How do you set the timing on a 1990 honda civic lx 1.5 liter

Depending on the distributor used, it should be set from the factory..Check to see if the bolts that mount the distributor are in slotted holes. If not, then there is no adjustment possible. If so, check underhood sticker for timing specs and procedure.

DOHC... 1st step =22 ft. lbs. 2nd step 61

SOHC... 1st step = 15 Step 2 = 36 #3 =49 fourth step only on bolts 1 and 2 = 49 ft. lbs
