You probably didn't need new tires unless you had some miles on it. Remember that the spare tire also has a pressure monitor as well. It most likely is causing the low tire pressure light on the dash and only needs to be inflated back to what ever your other tires are set to. I had the same problem on my RX and took it back to the dealership where they told me since the spare is exposed to the same elements (it's under the back of the RX - you have to use the tire iron to let the spare down), it will inevidably lose air.

Good luck.

SOURCE: low tire pressure warning light stays on

I brought my RX350 to the dealer for this problem before. They told me to inflate my tires to 36psi for winter time although the recommended pressure is 30 psi

Contrary to popular belief the indicator light does not reset itself. Once you put in the proper tire pressure in all tires including the spare you must reset the indicator light. The reset button is located on the driver side underneath the dash panel. Stick your on the break pedal, turn and look up. You will see the reset button. With th engine on and park break on,push and hold te button for 5 seconds. The indicator light will turn off and you are all set.

2008 Lexus ES 350 low tire pressure warning light

1) go to a gas station with an air pump. Unless u have an inflator/compressor at home with the tireattachment

2) lower all 5 air pressures including the spare in the trunk to maybe about 28 PSI

3) now reset the TPMS (on the 07 there is a button to "calibrate" the TPMS and it is located under the dash. I presume it is the same on the 08.)

4) now bring the pressue back up to 30/32 or whatever it says on the door area

If this doesn't work, it is possible u have a defective TPMS
but my bet right now would be that someone "calibrated" the TPMS to the current tire pressure so the light is constantly on. It happened to me before when my daughter was messing around and hit that button.

After putting the correct preasure on the tire and resetting the tire preasure light it's still on

Don't spend money taking it to a mechanic or dealer. Lower the spare a correct the pressure in it. Then reset the pressure light. All these Lexus tire sensors are little transmitters sending a signal to your car's receiver. Had the same problem and solved it this way.

Why does my Emergency Tire Gauge Light stays on and will not go off, does it need to be reset because the the tires air pressure appears normal.

most likely needs a reset, if your tires are fine. Double check to make sure you dont have a nail or screw though

2004 Lexus Ls 430 Low tire

My 2004 Lexus LS 430 has had the light come on several times, even after changing all four tires. There are no tire pressure sensors on my four tires. I was told the car computes tire rotations and since a low pressure tire takes more rotations than a fully inflated tire, the computer puts up a message on the dash.
To reset/turn off the message, put the emergency brake on, start the car and reach below the dash to the right side of your steering column until you feel two buttons in a depressed area under the dash. One button turns on /off your smart key and the other will turn off your tire low pressure message. Depress and hold until the message on your dash goes out and you are good to go. I know this works, I just reset mine a few minutes ago.

Dashboard light

For Lexus the ! symbol usually is low tire pressure that's all there's sensors in each wheel that report to the car that the pressure is low, also if your wondering how much air to put in the tires you can look by opening up the driver or sometimes the passenger side door and look along the door there's a label that will tell you each tires recommended pressure. Any other questions just ask and id be glad to help you folks, and if you don't mind if you can rate my answer if you get a chance it would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks,
Steve
