Do you know enough about your engine to be able to tell me if it looks like the power steering belt is separate from other belts or is it part of the main serpentine belt? If it's not the belt, check the power steering fluid. Look for red colored fluid, or sometimes clear colored fluid leaks under the car. It could be a blown hose, loose fitting leak, bad PS pump, or a missing belt. Please let me know what you find. Thanks.

your car is equipped with a sensor on the power steering pump that detects steering pressure and sends a signal to elevate the idle when turning.. replace that sensor and problem should be fixed..

Okay, i have a 1995 Camaro Z28.. i have a weezy power steering noise and i dont know how to fix it. whenever i turn my steering wheel to the max it squeels. even when im driving in 1st and 2nd gear i can...

Bleed the system. Add fluid to the fill line on the power steering fluid once it is warm. Then turn the wheels to each side all the way and leave all the way for about 5 secs. Do this two or three times. Check the fluid level. Keep doing this till the fluid level does not go down.

Need to know how to replace my power steering pump.

There's an O-ring on those oil lines, maybe you cut or lost one. They're available at your local parts store.I hope that's all it is,not your power steering pump or rack.

Its a screeching noise, it could be due to low hydraulic fluid inthe power steering pump reservior or it could also be tht the belt tothe power steering pump is lose needs adjustment or it may need replacing.
Hope this helps!.

Ford focus power steering problem

Hi, it does sound like your on the right track as the noise gets louder when you turn the wheel. without turning the wheel you should have a slight noise that will get louder when you turn the wheel this would then point me to believ the power steering pump needs replacing.

As your not loosing any fluid then the rest of the steering should be ok so changing the pump will solve your problem, just remember to make sure you bleed the pump properly and the steering properly after fitting the new one as not doing this properly could cause damage to seals inside the rack itself causing more problems than you need so double check you have bled all the air out ok.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

Steering wheel extremely hard to turn

Replace the power steering pump should fix it. Have seen both failed pump and steering racks cause this problem.
