I was driving down the highway one day when suddenly the car shuts off. I pulled over put it on park and tried to turn on but no luck... it still doesn't turn on... these are the thing that I checked:
1-change the coil for a new one, it has spark
2-disconnected spark plug wire #1 and crank the engine and it has sprk
3-fuel pump activates as I turn the key
4-disconnected line that connects to the fuel pressure regulator and as I turn the key switch fuel comes out from the pressure regulator...
*anyway is there a fuse or relay hidden like behind the radio or in the trunk that I should be looking for to replace or some switch to be reactivated.
It sounds like this could be a common problem - usually this is caused by the crank sensor going out/bad. The sensor is mounted to the timing cover on the front of the engine.
The crankshaft sensor provides both engine speed and crankshaft position signals to the ECM. The sensor is a variable reluctance device, consisting of a bobbin coil with a magnetic core. The resistance of the coil is approximately 1.35 kilo ohms . The steel teeth on the crankshaft timing ring are used as a rotor. As the rotor teeth pass by the crankshaft sensor, pulses are generated.
The rotor has 60 tooth positions set at 6° intervals with three teeth missing. The gaps identify the TDC position of the 6 cylinders during one complete engine cycle (two crankshaft revolutions). The rotor thus provides both engine speed and crankshaft position information to the ECM. The missing pulses identify crankshaft position. Each tooth pulse after the missing pulse represents 6° of crankshaft rotation. Thus the frequency of the toothed pulses are a measure of engine speed.

I think your torque converter IS the problem. Because it's the only thing that attaches the engine to the transmission and it's designed to "lock up" at highway speeds for overdrive. If it locks up at idle it will kill the engine. If it locks up at slow speeds ( < 35mph ) the vehicle will lurch/buck... And if it wont move in forward or reverse I would say it's time for a new/rebuilt transmission
Do you get a trouble indication?
Ford products have Coils On Plugs that are problematic. I have a 2005 Lincoln and had the same problem (only my dash light came on); it cost me $1500 to have all of my COP's replaced. You should get check engine that will tell them which one is bad.
You don't have to put the car in park to reset the system, just put in Neutral, shut engine off, restart, put car in Drive.

I had the same problem with the fuel pressure. I had a brand new fuel pump that was 11 months old. I had that fuel pump replaced. It worked for about 2 weeks and the car would not start. I had to get the security system replaced. The car runs now. I have had this car for three years and it has put me through hell.
