I doubt it. The tank would not need the cap for the pump to work unless the pump hose ran thru it.
There could be dirt or sludge in the bottom of the tank which would gum up the pump. You could also have gunk in the spray nozzle.
The cap may still be available from the dealer.
Thank you, the fluid runs out of the pump fine when I disconnect the hose from the pump. So I thought the sludge on the bottom could not be it since the fluid comes out fine, I just thought maybe the lack of pressure was due to the cap being removed. Is it possible that the pressure loss in the pump can be just that the pump is old and not as strong as it used to be? I cleaned all the nozzles and changed all the hoses, I kep thinking if the pump works and can get the water to the hood at least, it has to be soemthing. Thank you again.
