These trucks are known for bad multifuction switches.
the switch that i talk of is the signal switch , the handle is the switch, it bolts to side of steering column . this switch controls the signals and the headlights and high /low beams. the other thing is the headlight switch connector, the connector some times goes bad and starts to melt or just comes out of the connector. you will need to remove the cover to steering column, the screws are located under the bottom cover in holes. remove cover and check connector and then test for power if you have power going into switch but not coming out then switch is bad.

the last thing is to make sure the bulbs are good , make sure the headlight bulbs are good , and also the driving light bulbs, test for power at the connectors to those lights to.
You will need to do a little testing to find the problem.

SOURCE: high beams wont turn on.

First place to start is with headlight switch. I did have a case many years ago when both high beams were blown out at once, but this is rare. When you have the headlight switch out, jump power from te low beams to the high beam contacts. If high beams come on, replace switch.

High bam and fog lights that just stopped working

Disconnect one of your headlamps and use a multimeter to figure out the positive low beam and ground on the wiring, then using the ohm meter function check the high beam wiring back to the fuses and relays.
If I remember correctly, the fog lights are supposed to turn off when you turn on the high beams. So that switch system may need to be looked into on the controls.

Well, the problem is that I dont know the reason, you should investigate. There could be issues with lamps (must get new) or electricity problems (must head to auto-service)

1995 ford explorer

It is most likely the multifunction switch has a bad contact, also pull and check the main hdlight switch for burned connectors.
