I had this problem with my car. Is ur hazzard flasher working? if they are working and the turn signals are not working. Try replacing the hazzard light switch. If the hazzard are not working then the combination flasher unit is bad. its what controls the signals and flasher.

SOURCE: Nissan Sentra License Plate Light Not Working

the license plate because of its position gets a lot of dirt and water problems so i would go back and take another good look remove the bulbs again and see if you can clean the inside with a little sand paper or a little scrape with a small screwdriver then spray with a little sileacone oil replace bulbs. Then switch lights on they should be ok if not try moveing them slightly with your fingers they should light.please let me know how you get on.adrian

do you have the right light bulb? i own a 98 sentre and
it takes a 9004 bulb, but walmarts computer said to use 9007. That made the high beam censor stay on till i replaced it. if you look at the bulb you can tell if it is a dual or single beam bulb.!!!!

SOURCE: 1999 Nissan Altima GXE Turn signal problem

you have a busted bulb, your hazard may be working fine but the bulb is double contact so one part is working and the other is not. just check which bulb is busted.

Left rear turn signal on dodge ram 1500 won't work. bulb replacement didn't help.

Just had a similar question last week, and the solution was a bad socket/bulb holder.
You might try and see if there is current in the brake light wire leading to the bulb holder.
I have used a jumper wire and a safety pin to test the wire behind the socket.
I pierced the plastic insulation of the brake light wire with the point of the safety pin, and either use a tester or even a good working bulb and a good ground wire.
Be blessed.

My rt turn signal on my 2005 sts does not work. i replaced th bulb, and checked the but that didn't fix it. what else could it be?

After you replace the bulb you would check the socket for power on that wire and for a ground. If there is no power on the circuit you would then check the turn signal switch.

I just purchased a 1996 cavalier. It didn't have an owners manual and i need to know what the abrieviations on the fuse box stand for. I'm trying to find the fuse for the brake lights and rear turn...

Hi, the likely problem is the turn signal switch. The signals and brake lights use different fuses. You can get an owners manual here:
http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/chevrolet/1996-Chevrolet-Cavalier.pdf

A new switch is about $40, and it isn't too hard to replace. Make sure you get one that has the same controls as yours does. To replace the switch, remove the covers from the steering column, disconnect the switch and unscrew it from the column.

Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Right turn signal does't work

check bulbs . also check connection of bulb socket (sometimes the socket can get corroded)
simple way to check to see if getting power to that side; take same gauge wire(on bulb wiring), from battery to just before bulb socket. if works then problem is more likely to be in turn signal switch.
try jiggling the turn signal switch when putting on right signals.
last option, check wire from switch to bulb.
ford has had a lot of problems with electrical stuff such as doorlocks, switches.

I have a burnt out bulb on my 2008 nissan sentra which is located on the rear dash behind the passaenger seat how do i replace it

Open your trunk and look on the underside of the "rear dash" towards the center. You either can replaces bulb by twisting the pigtail going to the light or you may have to unscrew a couple of bolts to remove the brake light housing. Hope this helps.
