SOURCE: 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix Thermostat

as you face the engine the thermostat bell is on the right (drivers side) Follow the radiatoe hose. Remove the two bolts and raise the bell still attatched to the hose. the thermostat is there with the rubber seal. You can gently pry the thermostat out with a screwdriver or something similar. Put in new thermostat be sure it is the same as the old one, and then replace or change the seal (be sure it is the smae size and thickness as the old one as I got the wrong size from Napa) Then replace the bell, and tighten, but not over tighten. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: How do I change the low beam bulb(drivers side) on

Upside down L shaped bracket that is bolted to frame just behind headlight assy. Unbolt bracket, lift bracket straight up to unlock headlight assy. Headlight assy should easlier fall forward to replace any of the 3 bulbs

Odometer disconnect

The only way to rollback the odometer is to replace the cluster with lower miles. Unplugging would kill the whole cluster. The ECM keeps track of mileage also. You can have it read and see if it matches the odometer.

Engine light came on 2005 pontiac grand prix 130000 miles owners manual said bad gas or emission system did diagnostic check thru onstar they said cooling system. gauges are normal heat range

Is there a way to get OBD codes for the problem? You can usually get them read at a local auto store or repair shop. Most likely if you are not experiencing noticable problems it is probably just emissions, but I would get your code read just in case.

2004 pontiac grand prix 71000 milesis burning oil. no leaks no smoke

How many miles do you go before you have to add oil. GM actually states that one quart of oil every 2000 miles is considered normal. I personally think that one quart every 3000 miles is normal esp at higher miles. As an engine wears things such as valve seals and rings get worn and allow oil to seep past and will burn, this can be in such small amounts that you will not notice the smoke and is normal engine wear. The life cycle of an engine is considered 100k miles by the designers, even though we all know they will go far beyond that. If your car has the 3.1 or the 3.4 liter engine you may want to check in the engine coolant for signs of oil, it is a common problem for the oil to seep into the cooling system but is not usually enough to make a noticable drop in oil level. If you are only using about one qt every 3k miles or so i would not worry about it if you have had it checked for leaks already.

04 Grand Prix oil leak

if it is not leaking then it is being burned by the engine, how many miles go by before you need to add oil?, if u are adding more than one quart every 1000 miles u have piston reing problems and or valve guide seal leaks. U won't see any smoke in most cases unless you are really going through the oil, like 1 quart every 300 miles.

2007 Pontiac Grand Prix uses oil between oil changes and has a black carbon type ring around the exhaust pipe opening. Pontiac dealer told me it's normal for a 3800 V-6 to use a quart of oil in a thousand...

it is not normal for that engine to use that much oil. i know of another grand prix like yours that lost the engine and the dealer had to replace it. something is wrong with that engine. maybe talk to another gm dealer. good luck
