This sounds like a fuel injector problem. You can use an OHM meter and test the injectors by carefully pulling off the electrical connector and touch the 2 prong's of the meter to the 2 connections on the injector itself. I'm not exactly sure what the exact read out should be but if you test all of them you should be able to tell which one's are bad. You could also go to the parts store and ask them if you can test a new injector to get the proper reading. Good luck!

check fuel pressure could have restricted fuel filter engine could be out of time.timing chain slipped time.but first try code scan look for fault codes.
I'm following another issue like this on a 1996 Jimmy. This engine requires 60psi or more fuel pressure to run. You need to have someone check the fuel pressure at the rail- throttle body with a gauge.
Your tranny filter may be clogged. It could be a gas problem, fuel filter or injectors. Try checking the filter and make sure to check the gas pressure. If that checks, it could be bad spark plugs and wires. Best bet is to try to get a code.
Have you checked that engine oil level is okay, if so check that oil pressure switch is good. The switch is usually bypassed to start the engine, but it won't run with no oil pressure indicated...hope this helps
did you use carb cleaner or starter fluid. if you try starter fluid and it starts for a second and then dies you might have a fuel pressure issue. if not check for spark.
No spark issue can be from a number of causes. Most likely the crankshaft position sensor. It is sensitive to minor damages. check position of the teeth. If bent carefully straighten. Also can be the ECM (main computer) On cars with no fuel pressure check oil sending unit because a faulty one that tells no oil pressure will make computer cut out fuel pump operation.
