1995 Cherokee heating (A/C) issue

I have a 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country 4.0. The heater fan only blows high or low. When you run the heater (or A/C) in high, and you run it for a brief time, the engine will shut off. Whether you are driving down the road or sitting idle. Now, it's not a battery problem, because the vehicle can be immediately started back up. This is not a major issue, as it can be avoided by not running the heater or A/C in high, but it gets rather cold here in Indiana in the winter and hot in the summer. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

I originally thought it was a grounding problem. The problem I have, is that I am having trouble locating this proverbial wire. I was thinking it should be a wire transitioning from the battery.

Sounds like you have a wire that has lost or burned off its cover and is grounding out the vehicle and has soon as its power is cut the wire breaks free from the bare metal and thats why you can immediatly start the vehicle

96 Jeep Country-Heater blowing warm; NOT hot

unless you got visable signs of leakage its not heater core, but it could be pluged with sediment. take off both heater hoses and flush it both ways until it runs clear. you can also mix a little baking soda and water and pour in core and let set for a while and then flush.
