The T-Stat is located under the car up front just in front of the oil pan. Watch the video at this link, the owner in the video is replacing the thermostat housing gasket which contains the thermostat. Please be safe and support the car on a safety jack stand, never raise and work under an unsupported car unless you are prone to a death wish.

Where is main computer in 1998 Subaru forester located

The main ecu or engine computer is located under the passenger side floor mat. You will have to remove or peel back the carpet to access it. if you remove the kick panel near the door first it will be easier.

My 250t overheats on long trips but is fine around town, i have had the radiator pressure tested and thermostate replaced plus new head gasket and still get the same problem can you help

Engine and radiator overheating causing water to pour out of the overflow tank no sign of leaks and head gasket is fine

typically it will be a bad thermostat, which is a easy fix. refer to your car repair manual for easy instructions

follow the top radiator hose to the engine....your thermostate is located at the end of hose...take that end of hose off and thermostate is screwed into engine unscrew and take out .
