If your having trouble getting the fuel to go in,
it most like is the EVAP System & something
like a failed vent solenoid valve

You should have codes stored pointing in that
direction

I have a mk2 jetta 1800 with 5 speed gearbox and would like to know what other golf or jetta has a 366 diff ratio that I can use in my jetta race car

You would have to ask someone in the business of building transmissions. WE have no way to reference this type of very uncommon info request.

After fueling up my 2006 Jetta doesn't seem to get fuel. It cranks over just fine but won't fire. Usually 3 cranks does the trick. This only happens after fueling.

Might have water in the fuel. Fueling it up mixes it in and it get picked up easier. Buy a product called Heet. You pour it in before filling up for the next couple of times and it will remove any water.

Will a 1996 VW jetta tranny match up with 1989-88 volkswagen jetta

Yes. You'll need to swap your old speedo cable and the back up light switch is different. Also the 96 transmission uses the same clutch disc as the MK2 16v, which is different from the 8v disc, it's the number of splines on the input shaft. I'm putting a 95 Jetta 5 speed into my 1986 Scirocco. Make sure you replace the throw out bearing and the clutch rod seal and bushing in the end of the input shaft.

Changing a 1997 vw jetta 2.0 clutch

See my "How To" to remove a 5 speed transmission from a MK2, it is very similar to removing the tranmission on a MK3.

Fuel box licking

vent valve or vapor canister purge valve is what I believe your referring too. You dont need to replace the complete vapor canister, just the valve itself. the valve is connected to the canister with a small 2" long rubber hose.
