The oil light kept flickering on and off. (Which, I know was a mistake to drive without checking it.) On a freeway, all of my idiot lights came on and the engine died. (That's what I assume happened.) I couldn't brake, gas, or steer much at all. I rolled off of the freeway and came to a stop. Turns out (shocker, I know) there was no oil in the engine. I can't find a leak, I really don't believe that I was burning oil. Anyway, I put more oil into the engine and it did nothing. So, I towed it back to my house and it's sitting so pretty in the driveway. Haha. My brother has been looking at it to see what's wrong with it. He suggested a compression test, but later determined that there "must be compression in the engine." He said he could "feel it." So, he looked around more and a part of crank shaft pulley that I literally bought a few months back had, as he put it, "disintegrated." There's a chunk missing out of the timing belt, as well. He thinks it might have "jumped timing." Can anyone tell me what they might think it is and how much it would cost to fix it? I'm trying to figure out whether or not to fix it or just buy another car. I loved that car so much. Thank you for your help and bearing with me through my lack of knowledge and auto-language. Haha. Have a great day! :)
