This is a common problem with the blower fan resistor. Find your blower fan motor. Follow the wires by the Firewall to a part mounted in the ductwork. It usually has 2 screwmounts and 1 wired plug.

For some reason, the part may respond by tapping it with a broom handle or icescraper handle. It may last for years after that. Or if you buy a new part, it may do the same thing for no apparent reason.

The position of this switch is often blocked by an engine heater line. The water will usually stay in the line if the engine is cold by vacuum retention and if you disconnect the electric plug and both mounting screws you can swap the parts with 1 hand while holding the loose end of the disconnected heater hose. You just have to have everything in place before removing the water hose. You can then reattach the water hose and reclamp it. Then work on the switch.

The higher end Lincoln dash units have a self-diagnostic Code which when programmed will tell which Climate control part is bad. This is a diferent Coding system than for the engine system. You would need to know the trigger Code and have a Legend of corresponding problems they match to.

But this feature could easily be used in a Service writeup area as it takes less than 5 minutes to run.

I hope my solution, especially the free one with the broom handle helps you.

MY 2004 CHEVY TAHOE AC AND HEATER FAN DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE AC AND HEAT BUT NO FAN. THE BACK FAN WORKS I HAVE CHECKED THE FUSE AND ITS FINE

It may be the heater fan motor or connection to it .
I have replaced a lot of these that required a new connector to make then work....as the original connector semi melted at the fan motor.

1997 TBird-AC fan stopped working

Are you sure it isn't in the switch itself? I believe the fan is under the hook on this car but I don't have my books here to know for sure. If you disconnect the plug to your heater motor and insert a test light inside of the plug that goes to the motor you could see if you have power there with the ignition switch on and heater blower fan switch on. The motor is about $30. to $50. but I definitely would test the motor before buying another one.

Subject: 2004 isuzu rodeo...my ac/heater blower is not working

The resistors are in circuit only on the lower fan speed settings.
On the highest speed setting, power is switched directly to the fan motor.
Check fan power supply fuses,
Check power is available to the fan when high speed selected.
If all above OK, apply power directly to the motor to verify fan motor runs- if it doesn't the motor may need replacement/repair.
