Escort van turbo diesel

My escort van t/d.is holding back on acceleration .still drives fine .doesnt miss a beat just not got the power ,starts fine,revs fine,just feels to be holding back when a put the foot down.new fuel filter been added.just been serviced also.it is a 1996 mondeo engine in it.

Check the accelarator cable isnt stretched (rev the car from the peddle, then from under the hood and listen for any rev differences) although its just been serviced also check that its had a replacement air filter. this could be restricting air.

could be from dribbling tips allowing air into the injector that is eventually purged allowing the injector to operate properly
I suggest that the injectors be pulled and reconditioned by an accredited diesel specialist shop

I have a escort 1.8 lx td 1996 when driving, the

sounz like the turbo or waste gate may be giving you problems. Check to see the waste gate on the turbo is closing properly.

Slow on starting , holds back when driving, even on an A road or motorway my vehicle is mitsubishi shogun long wheel base 2.8 turbo diesel

turbo must have a problem or remember tro vehicles have turbo lag. . . usually mitsu's turbos start giving power around 2500prm - 3000rpm. .

but usually on older turbo diesel mitsus the turbos are the first to go. . . .
