My radio has no sound but it seems to work otherwise, ststion changes, just no sound
Hello,
I too had the same problem after installing an aftermarket cd player. The solution I found was one that's seemingly overlooked. If you have an aftermarket wiring harness (you know the plug to your factory connector and rewire using color codes to the new stereo) then do not neglect to connect the blue POWER ANTENNA wire. Even though these trucks do not have an power antenna it seems to turn on the bose power amplifier for your speakers to work. How did I find out? I asked the LORD what was I missing and he answered and told me the blue wire needs to be connected. I stripped it down and touched it together and presto my sound came in blasting. Acknowledge GOD in all our ways and he will direct our path.

I recently took my vehicle to a transmission shop and they had to rebuilt the transmission right through. I was recently told that the transmission is a common problem in these vehicles. Sad that GM can not fix or recall the transmisison since there is a problem.

One of your speakers is no good or shorting out which causes radio to go into protect mode. Usually drivers door 6.5 but could be another speaker too...Multimeter helps but if you get in close door and turn key on but not start( other noises in cab,cut off everything but radio and do not start car) with radio all way up and listen ..which ever speaker you hear faint static from is ur culprit...Replace it
