SOURCE: parking sensors make a long beep when reverse gear

the park sensors send out a beam and the return signal intensity tells it the distance.if there is dirt or water in the sensor or it is shorted,it will think you are very close to an object and beep like that.there is more than one, disconnect them one at a time,or take them out and measure the comparative resistance.the one that is no good will read different

SOURCE: NO REVERSE LIGHTS REAR PARK SENSOR WHEN REVERSE SELECTED

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced. The switch is just plug and play

Motion sensor

No, the rear sensing system won't signal if you are in any gear except reverse. The wiring for the module is connected so that it turns on when you put the car in reverse. (This assumes the sensors haven't failed. If they are dirty, they can sometimes signal when an object isn't there.) Some newer cars have blind spot monitors that indicate an object approaching from behind and to the side; these don't indicate an object directly behind the car.

I hope this helps.

02 explorer will not go forward or reverse

Hi there:
I would suspect it is the shifter not the cable or the transmission to rule out the trans from under the explorer on the drivers side near the pan is the shift linkage disconnect it by prying the ball and socket apart and rotate the lever through the gears to the rear is park then one forward is reverse then N,D,3,2,1 when pushing the lever into park it will feel spring loaded if the parking pawl is not perfectly lined up this will line up if it rolls a little bit DANGER DO NOT LET VEHICLE ROLL OVER YOU.

Reverse sensing system Parking Aid The parking aid system consists of the:

The parking aid system sounds a warning to alert the driver of stationary objects near the rear bumper when REVERSE is selected. The parking aid system assists the driver in detecting certain objects while the vehicle moves in reverse at speeds less than 4.8 km/h (3 mph). Continuosly beeping in reverse

Try to clean rear parking sensors. Check also electric cables and connections, clean if necessary. Commons faults are sensors out of order. If one or more sensors faults you hear only a continous constant noise when you put in "R" gear. You need a VAS, VAG-COM, Bosch KTS, ... diagnosis scantool. The factory parking system will be scaned from errors with this instrument, and you will find exactly which sensors are out of order (for example: rear left center sensor, rear right side sensor break off, short to ground or short to plus).

99 Chevy Blazer won't go into reverse

it sound like you broke the sun shell in the transmission.

this is pretty common with the 4l60e transmission, when the sun shell breaks you will lose reverse and fourth gear, the only remedy is to replace the transmssion or have it repaired, the repair will require the transmission be removed and disassembled, you will need to purchase a new sun shell (get a heavy duty replacement) and a papper rubber kit for the repair, the kit costs about $80.00 and the new sun shell is about $65.00, just find a good trans guy to provide the labor.
