Start by charging the vehicles battery and clean terminal, once the battery is charged and the terminals are clean and secure, erase code. If the code comes back ON you may have to reprogram or replaced ECM/PCM
I would start with changing fuel filter and run a good fuel system cleaner through it for starters. Then a good healthy tune up would be a good consideration - plugs, wires, all fluids & filters. That will give you a good "ground zero" starting point w/your new car.
