I own a 1987 nissan maxima and it has an anti-theft system that wont let the car turn on. Is there a kill-switch or how can i remove the alarm system?
SOURCE: Remove anit-theft system
the anti theft control wont keep the engine from turning over if this is the case and the engine will not spin over. THEN this is not your problem. Have someone bump your starter with a obgect while you hold your key in the start postion. Before doing so make sure your battery is chared and you have good connections.

yes it is a factory system...
well the starter motor doesnt start at all and i read the car owners manual about it and it says thet when the alarm is activated it wont start becouse it wont let the starter motor start.
, and i was wondering maybe it has a kill switch that will turn the alarm off...
I know its the anit theft system because i hav had this car for a little more than 5 years and I never even knew it had an anti theft system until yesterday i changed the radiador fan and I tried opening the car and it started to honk on its own and it just didnt want to turn on anymore, so i refered to the owners manual and i read thet when the alarm is active the starter motor shuts off..
How do you know it's the anit-theft system causing the problem. 9 times out of 10 the anti theft system gets blamed and its not the culprit.
Factory systems have no such thing as a kill switch, do you have an owners manual, look up the dis-arming procedure for the anti-theft system.
It is integrated into the cars electrical system and is not removable, The dealer is the only one that can fix this, you provided no info about the problem that would lead me to give u any kind of answer to even begin to figure the issue out, unless you have great skill in electronics and allot of basic test equip and a factory wiring diagram you are wasting your time trying to fix it yourself.
