The factory manufactures the floor section with cutouts which wells are welded into the floor for the seats to attach to. They are not sold separately by the dealer or in fact by any American auto/truck dealer in this country. The laws incorperated by our government with the District of Transportation involve causes this hinderment for us owners of vans ban us to install seats in vans made without seats from the factory. To obtain the correct part for seat provision the entire floor section must be purchased which is out of the question. The price would be very high and the floor panel is made only during the model of production then discontinued. The best bet is to find a van in a junk yard hit broadside to cut the section of the seat wells needed in your case.

SOURCE: I want to fit a towbar to my ford focus hatch 2008

Pop the Hatchback open and remove the connectors
from the top of the bumper cover.

Optional Step: Using a Floor Jack, raise both sides
of the car in the back, supporting both sides with
jack stands, and remove the rear wheels.

Using Torx Bits, remove the inner rear wheel well
lining.

Get behind the rear wheel well and loosen the bolts
holding the bumper brackets on. They're pretty
difficult to find and remove. Be Patient. Do the
same to the other side.

Remove the rear bumper cover by pulling the cover
outward from the part nearest the wheel on both
sides. Once removed, take off the 2 black mounting
brackets from the bumper cover.

You could always try on Ebay or Kijiji to see if they have any seats for your van or go to junk yards and see if there are also any seats for your van too.

The people on the back seat bounce a lot. I have added air-shocks and keep it at 5 psi, that has helped smooth the feel of the road.

Because of the cargo rating, they used leaf springs on the rear. There is not a lot that you can do about that.

Have the fault codes read. Replace faulty items. Use only genuine items as non-genuine replacement are not always compatible with the OEM fitted CPU units. I suspect servo solenoid faults. Have a pressure test done on the gear box

Whats involved in fitting genuine ford rear seats into my connect panel van?

No the mounts in the floor should be there. You can't just drill holes, the sheet metal would tear away in a crash.

My 1998 ford windstar cargo doesn't have holes in the floor, how can I install rear seats?

weld brackets to teh seats and then bolt them through the floor ,if this is a panel van then check with local vehicle inspection station first as you may not be allowed to change the use of this vehicle under local law by fitting seats into a vehicle that only has a certificate of homoglonation for use as panel van

Discription of what they are for

Well it really depends on the model. There are 3 general categories these vans fall in. They are as follows.

1. cargo van
2. seat van
3. RV

1. Cargo vans are used for hauling stuff that you want secured somewhat from theft and water and do not want to mess with a trailer. Contractors fit them with boxes etc to put their tools in .
2. Seat Vans come with as many seats as they can fit in and generally have plenty of windows and are used for hauling people back and forth. Churches and schools often use these vans.
3. RV or recreational vehicles are vans that have been fixed up with a bed and sink inside and are used by people to go camping with a moderate amount of convenience. While it is still smaller then home they can cook and sleep in them. Families of 4 can do so relatively easily. Any more then 4 and it starts getting a bit cramped though I would not say impossible.,
Hope that helped you out as for understand the versatility of the common van.
