SOURCE: 1989 jaguar xjs v12 fuel mixture

Chances are the coolant temperature sensor or its wiring have failed, or the vacuum line to the MAP sensor is leaky or broken (I believe the V12 in '89 guise uses MAP sensors). The MAP sensor measures Manifold Absolute Pressure. Along with this pressure the ECU looks at engine RPM. It also measures air temperature. Knowing pressure and temperature we know density, and knowing engine speed tells us how much volume of air is going through the engine. All of this together is computed into air mass and is used to calculate how much fuel mass should be admitted. If the vacuum line is broken, the ECU reads less vacuum and produces rich mixture thinking that the engine is under high load.

think its underneath by the fuel tank ,but you shouldnt need to change it i have a 94 XJ6 4lt and i have never had to touch anything ,just changed the oil and filter ,evan the plugs havent needed changing in 2 yrs ,but you must polish it every week and clean the leather once a month with that stuff that keeps it supple .and dont forget to polish the chrome exhaust cover on the exhaust manifold

My 1991 XJS V12 has been sitting for 9 months low fuel, added fuel and tried starting, it turns over fine but does not fire, is there a way to check the fuel pump or if gas is getting to the engine?

first check for a spark thats more than likely ok. the most poss cause is the fuel pump. on the the fuel rail there is a pressure test point like a tire valve. connect a pressure test gauge and crank the engine you should get about 28 -36 psi if not the pump is more than likely stuck, try giving the fuel tank bang with your fist with someone cranking the engine remove spare wheel and trim board for access most likely the moisture in the remaining fuel has corroded the pump, good luck

1993 jaguar xjs 4.0 liter has fuel at rail but will not spray fuel is there a fuse or relay which is not working

The fuel filter could be clogged, preventing adequate pressure in fuel system. If not a blockage or fuel pump malfunction, then I would suspect fuse and or relay.

1995 jaguar xj6 stalls once you stop at the stop signs

Look for an IAC sensor (motor) Idle Air Control.
Usually located on side & front of throttle body. Not 100% sure which type you'll have but if you have pintle type (pointed end) Remove it, spray it well with throttle body cleaner as well as port it came from, and retry. If it cures it temporarily & starts to do it again, replace it.
