THOUGHT IT TO BE ELECTRICAL. SO CHANGED SPARK PLUGS,WIRES, ELECTRICAL COIL BANK. ENGINE TURNED OVER ONCE AND LOCKED? POSSIBLE BROKEN TIMING BELT (NEVER BEEN CHANGED SINCE NEW) ? VALVE UP AGAINST PISTON????

Sounds like the timing belt it has a interference engine so if the timing belt broke you could have bent rods and cracked pistons or worse. good luck

If you try to start it and it turns over at all then its not seized. The solution may be as simple as a new fuel filter or a new fuel pump.

My car just died and wont start at all every thing looks ok i turn the key nothing try to pull start but it wont i look at the timeing belt it looks good now what ?????

If the timing belt has over 100,000 miles on it revisit the timing belt possibilty. even though it can look ok it can have stripped one or two teeth. next listen for the fuel pump in the tank to run for about 5 seconds after you turn on the key. if it's not you likely need a new one. Next check for spark at the spark plug. you can do this buy removing the wire from the plug & inserting another one into the wire then hold the threaded part against a metal part of the engine & have a friend turn over the engine. if you see spark your good. if there is no spark you could have a number of issues & you will need to follow that up. All this is asuming the engine is turning over. if not your starter may be at fault.
Good luck let me know

My son's 2004 Kia Optima started stalling on the highway. 1st he noticed the RPMs drop then come back up. This happened several times before the car finally stalled. After a couple attempts, it...

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100%. Auto Zone will have the fuel filter and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. If it's the fuel pump failure, you have not gotten the car restarted. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know you got your car running 100% again soon and please rate.

2004 Kia Rio Won't Start Clicking Noise Battery is GOOD

My 2004 Kia Rio just started losing compression and died on me. I tried starting it and it only clicks. I checked the battery cables and they are not corroded and very tight. Could it be the battery or the alternator not charging the battery? there is no water in the oil and it's not the water pump.

Car troubles with my 2004 kia rio

This could be a bad thing or it could just be the guage failed. I would bring it in to dealer and hope you are under waranty meaning under 100,000 miles. And single owner.

2004 Kia Rio Cinco problems

Hi

If the check engine light is going on and off then it is very highly likely pointing to a misfire, and this could be due to any number of things, and your best bet by far is to have a code read done as this will give you information as to the cause of the problem, if not point you directly at the problem itself.

It could be coil packs, spark plugs, injectors, crank sensor, cam sensor, any number of things.

Regards

Geordie
