NUMBERS ON PAPER HAS TO LINE UP LIKE 5 OVER 2 AND 3 OVER 6 AND 1 OVER 4 NUMBERS I GIVE YOU WHEN YOU LINE THEM UP HOLD PAPER STANDING FRONT ENGINE.THAT IS CORRECT PLUG WIRES LOCATION ON SPARK PLUG COILS.
Inspect for the correct routing of the spark plug wires. Improper routing may cause cross-firing. Inspect each wire for any signs of cranks or splits in the wire. Inspect each plug wire boot for tearing, piercing, arcing, carbon tracking or a corroded terminal.
If there is any corrosion, carbon tracking or arcing indicated on a plug wire boot or terminal, both the plug wire and component it was connected to should be replaced.
Removal & Installation
3.5L Engine
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
Remove the left side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
Remove the left side plug wires from the retaining clips.
Rotate the engine for access as follows:
Set the parking brake.
Shift the transaxle into neutral.
Remove the engine mount strut bolts. Swing the engine mount struts aside.
Install the Engine Tilt Strap J-41131.
Pull on the engine in order to rotate the engine forward.
Tighten the strap.
Remove the right side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
Remove the plug wires from the retaining clip.
Remove the spark wires from the ignition coils.
Remove the plug wire assembly from the engine.
NOTE
If you are replacing the spark plug wires, the spark plug wire conduit and retaining clips should be transferred to the replacement wires.
To install:
Install the right side plug wires to the ignition coils and then the spark plugs.
Install the spark plug wires to the retaining clip.
Rotate the engine back to the original position.
Install the left side spark plug wires to the ignition coils and then to the spark plugs.
Install the spark plug wires to the retaining clips.
3.9L Engine
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
Remove the intake manifold cover.
Remove the left side spark plug wires as follows:
Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the ignition coil.
Remove the left side spark plug wire clips from the intake manifold and heater inlet and outlet pipe.
Remove the left side spark plug wire assembly.
If removing the right side spark plug wires, the engine must be rotated for access as follows:
Set the parking brake.
Shift the transaxle into neutral.
Remove the engine mount strut bolts. Swing the engine mount struts aside.
Install the Engine Tilt Strap J-41131.
Pull on the engine in order to rotate the engine forward.
Tighten the strap.
After rotating the engine, remove the right side spark plug wires as follows:
Disconnect the right side spark plug wires from the spark plugs and ignition coil.
Remove the right side spark plug wire clip from the ignition coil bracket.
Remove the right side spark plug wire assembly.
To install:
Install the spark plug wire assembly.
Install the right side spark plug wire clip at the ignition coil bracket.
Connect the plug wires to the ignition coil and spark plugs.
If the engine was rotated for access, return the engine to the original position.
The remainder of the installation is the reverse order of removal.

boot. Pull on the spark plug boot only. Do not pull on the spark plug
wire or the wire could be damaged.
Remove the intake manifold cover, if required.
Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
Disconnect the left side spark plug wires from the ignition coil.
Remove the spark plug wire clips from the Manifold Absolute
Pressure (MAP) sensor bracket and the heater inlet and outlet pipe tab.
Remove the spark plug wire assembly.
If replacing only one plug wire, open the retaining clips and remove the appropriate spark plug wire.
Disconnect the right side spark plug wires from the spark plugs.
Disconnect the right side spark plugs from the ignition coils.
Remove the spark plug wire assembly.
If replacing only one plug wire, open the retaining clip and remove the appropriate spark plug wire.
To install:
Install the spark plug wire assembly.
Connect the right side spark plugs to the ignition coils.
Connect the right side spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
If replacing only one plug wire, open the retaining clip and install the appropriate spark plug wire.
Install the spark plug wire assembly.
Connect the left side spark plug wires to the spark plugs.
Connect the left side spark plug wires to the ignition coil.
Install the spark plug wire clips to the MAP sensor bracket and the heater inlet and outlet pipe tab.
If replacing only one plug wire, open the retaining clips and install the appropriate spark plug wire.
Install the intake manifold cover, if required.

The ignition system consists of an ignition coil, spark plug wires and spark plugs.
The crankshaft position sensor signal is the basis for ignition timing calculations. The alternating voltage signal from the crankshaft position sensor is digitized by the powertrain control module. This digitized signal is then used to position the closing time of the primary circuit of the ignition coil.
Ignition angle is determined by the powertrain control module in response to engine operating conditions. Once ignition angle has been determined, the powertrain control module interrupts the current to the primary circuit of the ignition coil thus triggering the ignition spark which is supplied to the cylinders through the spark plug wires and spark plugs.
The ignition coils are triggered by the powertrain control module in pairs (cylinders 1 and 4 and cylinders 3 and 2) sending one ignition spark to the firing cylinder and one ignition spark to the corresponding cylinder on the exhaust stroke. This make sures that any unburnt fuel residues remaining in the cylinder on the exhaust stroke are re - ignited to provide cleaner exhaust emissions.

The coil have these number 1,4,3,2 these are the cylinder number and the number 1 cylinder spark is the first of the left when you are in front of the car trunk the secuency is continuos in the motor from left to right 1,2,3,4.
