Check the turbo pipes for internal splitting , this will block air flowing through to the engine. Also check if a catalitic convertor is fitted , this could be blocked.

I would consider changing the vehicle speed sensor. When they go bad, they can really throw out a lot of bad data to the computer, resulting in unexpected behavior like you're experiencing. They're only around $20-$25. I hope this helps! :)
the glow plug are used to heat the fuel on start up only, as a diesel uses compression instead of a spark (from the spark plug) have you try checking the connection on the glow plug, or changing the glow plugs themselves?
check Fuel pressure regulator by disconnecting the vacuum hose. Didn't say what year you have, yet the timing belt can also cause this as I had similar problems on an 87 and the belts were loose and floppy causing erratic firing/idling. A little easy trick to check timing belts without taking any parts off to get at timing belts, is (and no one knows about this one, hee) with a timing light!
Hi, Without knowing vehicle name or year I must state this is for petrol models, your coil needs renewing, Derv you have air coming into the fuel system. Please leave me feedback, Malcolm Campbell.
