if you ran completely out of gas you may have harmed the fuel pump, the gas is what keeps the fuel pump bearings lubricated.there is one thing you can try that has work alot of times in my line of work, the pump could just be stuck and you have one chance to get it going again, have a friend try to start your car while you hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a hammer, sometimes this vibration will unlodge the pump
Jaguar recommends the highest grade of gas for the best overall performance. usually this is between 91 and 95 octane, however many of our Jaguar customers just put the mid- or low grade fuel in the car. Now you can do this but the performance and in most cases the gas mileage wont be as good as the premium gas.
The way I see it is if jaguar did all that testing and engineering for that car and they came to the conclusion that it works best with high octane then i would do it. But hey, its your choice, i hope i helped you out.
You will need about 2 gallons of gas to get the car started. Also have the front of the car lower than the rear. I have had the problem with mine. If I am low on gas, I get the car on a downhill slope, and it starts right up and I get straightaway to the gas station.
