1995 Civic Timing belt replaced, cruise control stopped working

Hello,
I got my timing belt replaced a week agao and I just noticed that my cruise control no longer works. The cruise control was working before the belt was replaced. The cruise control light will not come on. Is there a connection between replacing the timing belt and breaking the cruise control? How can I fix it?

Thanks.

Timing marks

timing belt book, public library, or use their database. if you repair engines and are asking this, thats a good place to verify your info. (and the belt must have broken).a technician would notice the position before disassembly. be aware, the valves may have bent. you may want the haynes manual. they can get you one.
where i live i can get their chilton manual at home by typing in my library card number. engine repair has alot to it when you are replacing that belt on that kind of car. i suggest reading the book. you will want seals and a water pump too. i hope the 4 exhaust valves did not get bent

What are the sympyoms of water pump failure in my1991 honda civic dx?

Bearing rattle should be noticeable leaks water after driving (check right after you stop) from the weep hole. You can.check function this way:

Start vehicle on level ground, remove radiator cap, wait for engine to reach operating temp. If you see water circulating, the pump is operable. If you notice the other two symptoms the pump may be on its way out/ if you continue to drive it, this may cause the serpentine belt (timing belt which drives the pump) to over work as the pump bearings become more difficult to make their revolutions and you could break the timing belt which will cause massive engine damage.

1995 Honda civic - Replaced a bad water pump, and the timing belt broke. replaced the timing belt, but the car don't start. Won't tun over. Help

Not at all unusual for the timing belt to break and cause major mechanical problems inside of your engine. A failed timing belt can totally destroy your engine due to the extremely close clearences. That's why the strongly recommend a preventative replacement of the timing belts in all Hondas and Toyotas at specified mileage frequencies between 70,000 and 120,000 miles. Change the timing belt before it destroys the engine. You may now be at a point where only the Honda Dealer or authorized garage may be able to help diagnose the problem.

Engine light stay on and off 1995 VW Jetta GLS

It's just bad timing. Aftermarket radios have nothing to do with cruise control. Cruise control is attached to your cable line for your pedal near your throttle. It'a normally a box attached next to it. That is running on the battery separately and maybe a sensor to warn if it's not working properly.
The radio factory radio, is attached to many sensors in cars. If you have one that worked with volume contols on steering wheel than you might of sparked a problem. If that is the case (where you could control factory radio on steering wheel), than all you need is to go to the dealer and ask them to reset your gauges and warning lights. let them know whats up. Might cost you nothing. Also when replacing certain parts, the cruise control might have been tampered with and doesnt work.Or has been detached. normally you will have a blinking light steady, blink and it disappears. But check with dealer for the reset.

After they have done this, check to see if it occurs again. If it does, than it might be a shorted out wire connecting one of the sensors from the large important parts you had replaced earlier and it was just result of coincidental timing.

especially when replacing timing belt and water pumps. Even mechanics make mistakes!
Good luck.

HOW DO I ADJUST MY TIMING BELT ON MY 1994 CIVIC

I know of no adjustment for the timing belt, they have a spring loaded tensioner that keeps the belt tight. Honda wants you to change the belt every 90,000 mile. I would always change the tensioner and the water pump, which is driven by the timing belt, at the same time. If there is any question about how long the belt has been on the engine, replace it, you do not want the belt to fail at highway speed.

1995 civic

There is a possibility that your timing belt has a couple of teeth missing now. When was the last time the timing belt was replaced? The reason for the fuel smell is the engine is trying to fire at the wrong time. It's trying to fire when the exhaust valve is actually opening. Replacing the belt isn't a bad job.
