Vw passat 2006 slow to start this morning and this afternoon alarm went off when i locked the car and took 10 seconds to stop

Sounds like the battery or a short in the battery line. The VW alarm will come on if you disconnect the battery. Use a voltmeter (or mutlimeter) to check the battery voltage (red lead on positive pole; black on negative; range on 0-50V). When car is not running, you should see 12V; when car is running, you should see 15V (if the alternator is working). You can also test the battery charge by turning on the headlights. If they brighten when you rev the engine or if the dim when you turn on other electrical accesories, then it is likely the battery.

The anti-theft alarm keeps coming on after the car has been parked and locked. How can I deactivate it. I have double checked evrything is properly closed and locked. It has been an intermittent fault...

you can leave it unlocked,as the immobiliser will take care of any potential thief, as if you dont have the actual key,you cannot start the car.the key is coded to the actual car and can never be duplicated.as far as the alarm is concerned, try this, put the key into the drivers door and unlock/hold the key over for 30 secs, the windows will go down, then lock/hold the key over, the windows will go up.wait 30 secs, then press/hold the unlock button on the remote for 30 secs, you have just reset the immobiliser......

1995 volkswagen passat vr6 wont start the injectors are getting fuel but its not getting fuel to the engine. The injectors are getting spark and the fuel pressure is good.

if it fires then dies, you have to reset the alarm system with the key/remotes???otherwise you need to plug in the diagnostic computer(saves hours of "fun")

2002 Toyota Camry will not start, Alarm Problem???

the computer system that runs the car itself has a Vehicle Theft Deterrent Module build into the OBD II operating system that runs the ignition timing everything. It does make it neearly impossible to steal the car, only one draw back the Dealer is the only place you can get it serviced.
