1991 toyota corolla clicks but doesn't starts

Hello, I checked my starter on my 91 corolla, put used (good) copper connectors in it, tested if it works in store, (guys said 100% working) it's DX 5 speed, when i put it back in my car its clicking, but no turns over, I put different battery,(great big) checked clutch start switch, put new starter relay, same thing, click click.. no turns.. :( Help me please who knows what's wrong with my car, Thanks a lot!

The only thing I can suggest is cleaning the terminals on your battery and cables make sure the battery is charged turn on your key and see if you have lights in the dome and headlights if you do it's a starting issue

SOURCE: 1994 Toyota Tercel Starter Problems

sounds to me that you have an igniton problem not a starter problem and or if you have or had an alarm system could be cause if u do give me feedback and i will explain but seems that your starter is fine from what u say but if you think in terms of the elemts to start a vehicle batery gives pwoer to ignition which sends to starter which gives spark etc i would check you ignition system something is causeing a short and not alowing starter to function

SOURCE: I have a 1991 Toyota Corolla won't start only

It is a starter problem. But before you get the starter repaired/replaced check also the ignition switch. quite possible that it may be defective.

Have you checked the key switch and the neutral safety switch for power ? Its possible jumping the battery was just a coincidence.
There is also a possibility the starter is not good even tho you have replaced it.

1991 Toyota corolla seca won't start

With headlights on, try to start the car.
While engaging the starter: Do the lights dim? Do you hear anything? If so, what do you hear?

91 toyota pick up won't' start clicking sound

your starter sounds like its sticking. the carbon brushes in older models wear down and need to be replaced. or, starter needs replacing/reconditioning. first try to tap lightly on the starter with a hammer then try to turn the key(bring hammer with you!!)
failing that you may need to get it checked. you could try a hill start to see if it is just the starter.

1991 toyota corolla clicking starter while start it

Starter gets jammed after fitting and to confirm the same, engage your car in second gear and try pushing front and back and it should release. Try starting thereafter. In most cases it works.

If the starter clicks and sound like it is turning that would meen the flywheel may have missing teeth. If it is a standard shift truck, put the transmission in 2nd and push the car a couple of feet. (this will move the flywheel to a new position. Try starting it now. If the starter just makes a clicking noise but does not soundlike it is turning, highly unlikely if you have good power, then it would be the motor ground. ( I doubt it though ). The click is the starter soleniod engaging. ( mounted on the starter motor ). Itmay be posible to have the soleoid wires + and GRND reversed. Check.

check your injectors and spark plugs for damage or dirt would be a start then i would do a compression test on each cylinder to check for a cracked head gasket

91 corolla 4afe. AC quit working, then shut car off, and no restart. Had to jump starter to start (no signal to starter solenoid) all fuses ok. suspect maybe bad ign switch.... or ??

hello,I will try and help you with this problem.Check the battery and connections. The battery might have enough volts, but no amps, and this would cause your problem. You may have to have it load tested too find this out. Also the alternator needs to be checked to see if it is charging correctly. If all this is good, check the neutral safety switch. If I can be of service, let me [email protected]
