You MUST have the electronic engine control module scanned for fault codes to even begin to diagnose the cause of this.

Testimonial: "thanks will get it to bmw dealer for diagnostics check!"

Sounds like a fuel problem , have you changed the fuel filter in a while ? could be the knock sensor or the knock sensor module needs to be replaced.

The transmission has gone bad and all I can say is that you need to replace it.

Good luck.

WhAT WOULD CAUSE A PULSAR 87 TO START JERKING BACK AN FOURTH IT HAS POWER BUT IT WONTR KICK IN

a 35year old car. never seen one me with less than 10 problems.
100% expected. USA car in OK state clearly told and nice!
NO ENGINE TOLD (size) car is called N13 you generation car.
auto tranny and with 4wd?
USA PULSAR NX, IS 1.6L DOHC OR SOHC ENGINE.
ALL ARE INTERFERENCE ENGINES,
NEVER IGNORE THE TIMING BELT .
REPLACE IT FIRST.
so is and engine problem, not transmission failure to up shift, correct>? this fact must be learned first. or off base tests go.
engine Power loss has 50 causes. (electric or pure mechanical)
but in basic engine theory (ASE) and gas engines, and otto cycle engines,
the ordered list is.
1: good engine. . EGR not stuck open. CAM BENT NOT BAD OR WORSE SLIPPING. << FAST DRIVING THIS WILL Bring destruction.
2: good spark ,cap, rotor , HV spark wire set and plugs.
when 40mph cliff of failure hits, is engine misfiring? violently?
or is power loss smooth loss of power, RPM fails to rise more. but falls.
the former is spark bad. (ckp ,cmp or caused by cam belt slip)
#3 fueL
if slow smooth power loss, fuel pressure may be low.
if slow gee? the belt on the cam slips. never drive like that.
day one traded to this car, the belt is first ( I just hate bent valves)

Car shuts down after it hits 75 but it never use to do that

You will need to get the emissions tested to see if maybe if you have problem there. Being an 02 its possible the cataytic converter failed and is restricting the exhaust. One thing is we never replace a catalytic converter without first making sure the engine is running properly. All it takes is a few days of driving with an emission issue to waste a brand new cat.

2001 Dodge Ram Magnum 360 gas stalling also!

1.Start by changing plugs and wires. 2.Check for vacuum leaks. With the engine running, wigglr every hose you can see, to make sure nothing is loose or cracked. 3.Change fuel filter. 4.Check timing. 5.Check air control valve. 6.Check idle control sensor.

Power loss at 80mph

Fuel problem or the ECM and or chip has a 80mph limiter. Or your really winding out the engine, in which case, by the time you read this it will be too late.
