SOURCE: Acura MDX A/C won't come on

I went to an Acura dealer to buy the transistor for the rear A/C unit. The service advisor told me that the problem with the front A/C was probably due to a defective front transistor / resistor. I bought that part too.

The front transistor is located next to the blower motor under the dash on the passenger's side. It is secured by three or four small bolts. The one on the bottom left is very close to the carpet and the most difficult to get off and put back on.

The rear transistor is located behind the carpeted trim panel on the center console (driver's side). The carpeted trim panel is secured by clips only - there are no screws, so remove it carefully starting at the side near the accellerator pedal. Once the panel has been removed, reach inside a small hole in the metal frame to access the rear transistor. It is removed by twisting it and pulling it out. The hole in the frame is small and you might find pliers helpful.

After replacing both parts, the front and rear A/C are working. Apparently these transistors are common failures. If the A/C is out in your Acura MDX and the fuse checks good, a new transistor will likely solve your problem.

SOURCE: 1999 acura 2.3cl the car is not overheating,

The problem you describe is an indication of a bad head gasket.

Take it to a shop and have them test for this.

1991 honda accord a/c clutch will not ingage full of freon

I'd check the A/C Fuse & Relay- Check your owners manual as it may not have a fuse, but it'll tell you. It could be the switch inside of the car not working properly when you turn the A/C on, but if not It's likely the A/C clutch itself, you'll need a new one or a new conpressor assembly if so.

Thanks & have a great day!

AC fuse and relay for 2001 Ford Expedition

Pull a relay out and use paper clip to jump. Usually cross corner. Watch compressor clutch and see if engages when key is turn ahead. Don't start car. If it does good. Now take alligator clips and check relay. Clip each wire to negative and positive battery post. Then clip negative to negative relay pin. And touch positive to correct pin. If it doesn't click do it another relay so you know your doing it right. If determined relay is good. And your compressor clutch did engage when testing it. You are low on freon.

Where is the AC fuse on a 2005 Ford escape located

A/C fuse ? Compressor clutch not coming on ? HVAC control panel ? When you push that A/C button ,that is an input to the PCM - engine computer . The PCM then energizes the A/C clutch relay turning on the compressor clutch . The odds of this being a fuse problem is astronomical . But check fuse F14 15amp in under hood fuse box . Check A/C clutch relay also ! Check power an control of relay ,do you know what this is ? Go on you tube an check out video on test a relay .

What do the fuse relays under the hood of a 1998 oldsmobile 88 ls control

You have fuses and relays . The fuses are or should br labled inside each cover if still there as well as on the fuse block itself, If not I can look under the hood of mine and tell you. The relays from left to right thats passenger to driver and numbered including the empty spaces as mine hase three on the right and two on the left with three emty slots in between. Now Olds seems to have kept this araingement for some time also my '98 88 has ABS as part of TCS but no relays there and diferent climate controls over the years it is posible you have more or less than are presnt on mine the complete list is as follows
#1 - AC compressor control for the compressors clutch
#2 - Horn relay
#3 - AC blower fan motor on, at low speed on the '98
#4 - AC blower motor off or high speed depending on year, not present on my "98
#5 - ABS pump relay ,not present on my '98
#6 - ABS Main relay also labled as pump relay for some years, not present on '98
#7 - High speed cooling or radiator fan
#8 - Low speed cooling or radiator fan

Cluthch for AC

power to the clutch went to a lot of parts.

you can trace the power from the fan blower switch, then to the ac switch, then to the pressure switch then to the relay.

ow i forgot, the power source fuse is the first to check also. the fan fuse is different from the compressor fuse. pls check them both.

tnx 4 using fixya,
