Center console removal 2003 Cadillac CTS issues

I was driving my 2003 cts, and all of a sudden the power went out. Car want start and igintion and shifter is locked. Can this be the ante theft lock system, because i have an alarm system installed with the factory alarm?

take the radio apart and take them out one by one, i just fixed my yesterday

u have a leak in the heater core the oily smell and mist is anti freeze sounds like a small leak because usually u would have a wet floor if it was large -two choices check and repair as necessary the core or can use an additive with a stop leak they usually work well on small leaks

Just had the same problem. The problem is that the rubber bushing on the transmission linkage deteriorates and falls off. This causes two problems - shifter is loose and a metallic clunking sound is heard when shifting. It's not the shifter inside the car. It's the linkage underneath the car. You have to buy the bushing (if sold by itself) or the linkage kit. The linkage is on the passenger side of the transmission between transmission and right side exhaust pipe. Ensure engine/exhaust is cold prior to trying to access. Regards.

sounds like you have a bad brkae light switch, which is located on the brake pedal assembly. a bad switch will not let you shift out of park and you will not have any brake lights as the car does not recognize that the pedal is being pushed and brakes engaged. easy to replace switch if you are handy, if not this is a inexpensive repair at any mechanic. hope this was helpful is so please rate 4 thumbs.
