Does the stereo light up when you turn it on? If not, find the fuse for 'dome'. If it does, check the wires to the stereo and see if you disturbed a connection to the dome and cargo lite.

The security light issue is very common on GM vehicles. This is from a break in the communication between the key, igniton, and TDM (Theft Deterrent Module) computer. The hard part is figuring out which one is failing. They is no way to know other than to just start switching out old parts and putting in new ones. This is expensive and all parts must match for the security to work. There are ways to bypass the system Other than that, you'll need to take it to a dealer to get FIXED.
