After you kill it, when you try to start it back up, does the starter turn the motor? Or is it froze up (will not turn over)?
It takes a while, the first time I try it does nothing but when I wait a few minutes it click and then when I wait again five to ten minutes it clicks and they it starts a few minutes later.
Mr. Fuller I'm waiting for your response
OK, if I understand you, the first time you don't even get a click, then after five to ten minutes it clicks and then a few minutes later it starts? Its the no-click or anything at all on the first go that has me puzzled. So before I answer, I need to be sure that I am clear about this. First time=nothing. No click or anything?
ok--Here is what I think. This has to do with something not working when it is warm, but working when it cools off. This would mean that some electrical contact is physically changing as it goes between states; warm/cool. So, it is either the wire terminal that connects to the start solenoid (because you can not hear it click on first try), or it is the start solenoid itself, or it is the battery terminals (need to be cleaned and tightened, and yes, you could have radio and lights just fine but no start - all because of battery wire terminals), or -- least likely -- it is the relay that precedes the start solenoid (or, indeed, a wire terminal to that piece).
It cranks first time but won't start I change d the battery on it

SOURCE: 87 Ford Taurus 3L engine shut down when warm - will not restart
after it has shut down check for gas at the fuel rail with the key on their should be gas squirting out constantly it sounds like the fuel pump is going out

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start

Sounds like starter relay. No crank no start condition correct?

Sounds like there might have been some dirt or sludge in the bottom of the tank that got sucked into the fuel system. First run some fuel system cleaner through it. If that doesn't work change the fuel filter.
