I have a 200 Dodge Stratus Will it screw up my engine if i try to start it after the timing blet broke?

You have to find out if your stratus has an interference fit engine, which means if the cam and the crankshaft become disconnected, the pistons will hit the valves and bend them causing them to not seat. Most of the time engines are interference fit.

a battery should cost around $50 for a good one bumper not painted $120 and each headlamp $160 figure in $120 in paint and supplies and reasonable labor or $250 depending where your at it could be as high as $900. and no other damage to mounting would cause the price to be higher. dont expect a perfosional body shop to cut corners they wont they have to fix it right.

The engine is considered a high tolerance engine and most likely the engine is gone. This means that there is no room for the valves and pistons to be in the piston chamber at the same time, As the piston goes up, the valve's need to be in the close position or there's going to be contact and with the timing belt gone. The pistons will be hitting the valves. Replacement of pistons and valves, at this point you might as well rebuilt the whole engine. Sorry for the bad news friend.

This car has a very possible chance of having either a slightly bent valve, causing the loping idle, or the belt was installed a tooth off on the timing, it's one of the two.easiest way to deduce this would be to recheck the timing belt marks, to certify they're correct, then to do a simple compression check, get back to me with any questions, I'M HERE TO HELP!!!
