My CRX will start and fire up and immediately die then i will start it and rev it up a little and it used to stay on after doing that a couple of time but now it does the same thing it just wont stay started. I was thinking the fuel pump maybe because i already replaced the relay and stuff. Also after trying to start it over and over it now is starting to turn over slower and slower and i just didnt know if it was the fuel pump or something else.

I'm having the same issue with my 1990 CRX, except it doesn't even stay started for 5 - 10 sec, it just dies immediately. I just got my distributer and everything related replaced about 2 months ago. I removed the intake tube off the gas filter and confirmed the fuel pump is pushing fuel through. My next thought would be a fuel filter, but it seems odd that it would choke out that quickly. My CRX worked perfectly till this happened. I'm open to any suggestions!! Those fuel pumps are at least $250, and a pain to replace. I would like to know for sure if I need to replace it or not. Few possibilities exist. The fuel pump is most likely..This is given the fuel filter is in good shape. The coil and ignitor (in the distributor cap) is also a common problem.

the firing order for your 91 crx should be 1, 3, 4 and 2. You need to identify where the rotor points to when cylinder 1 is at top dead center.
Cylinder number 1 is the one closest to the accessory belts (alternator, power steering , etc, hope this helps.
All Honda 4 cylinder engines that I have worked on have a firing order of 1342. That is the firing order on your CRX. #1 is the cylinder closest to the timing belt.
I have same car 1989 honda crx, what worked for car was I took the Idle Air Control Valve ( IACV ) off and cleaned it with carb cleaner. What you will need is a 12mm socket and only has two screws, and pliers to take off two small hoses attached to it.. And most important carb cleaner to clean the inside of IAVC. Plus you can also search for this on the Internet ...1989 honda crx Idle Surges! Hope this helps...
I had the same problem with my 91' crx it would idle and have a low rev i adjusted my tranny cable located below the battery tray and accelerated and shifted fine afterwards
Try disconect the battery from the car. Wait a minute and reconnect. This should reset the computer. This happened
to my moms Honda FR-V. The mechanic had seen it before.
Its worth a try.
