I have a 97 chevy mailbu that is leaking coolant from under the pulley clostest to the front of the car. So where is it leaking from? Also ive been having problems with my heat not working if the temp gauge is over half way and while driving some times all the lights will go dim and heat blowing will slow down is this all connected and what is it.
Your problem is the water pump. The inner seal has gone bad and is letting coolant escape past it end the bearings. Your Water Pump needs to be replaced. This is not very hard at all even for a novice mechanic. I can do these in about ten to fifteen minutes from start to finish. The hardest part of the whole job is getting the gasket oriented correctly, but other than that it is a piece of cake.
To ansewer the question on the leak on the malibu. your probably leaking from your water pump theres a hole under the water pump we nicked named it thee *** hole if the packing goes it will leak slowly.a preassure check well veiify as to your heater if your water leval gets low you wont feed your heater core thus no heat but you wont heat up when you loose your heat because your radiator is still full enough to cool your engine

POSS NOCKED THE ENGINE TEMP SENSOR WIRE OFF AND IT IS TOUCHING THE ENGINE OR BODYWORK

have you changed the sensor on the coolant reservoir? try that.

after you run the car for a while do you see that the oil on your dip stick looks milky? if so the leak is getting into the oil. If so this may be a blown head gasket.

You have a bad coolant level sensor. On a Saturn I pretty sure the sensor just screws out, it's located on the over flow bottle. Be sure to unplug the wires going to it.

Sounds like you have a faulty head gasket or maybe a cracked head. This can cause overheating and the check engine light to come on.The code for the o2 sensor is probably caused by coolant getting into the exhaust system and coating the sensor. The coolant fan may work but it cannot remove enough heat from the rad to make the engine cool off.Try some engine coolant stop leak to see if it will help. This maybe only a temperary fix.Let me know if you need more.MOE

My intake manifold gasket is leaking huh sounds bad is it and is it hard to fix?
The reason that your lights dim and blower slow down is because coolant gets on the belt causing the belt to slip on the pulleys, causing the alternator to stop charging.
