Ecm goes bad it will go in limp mode, vechicle will run poorly check engine light will stay on vechicle wont start.you need to use a code scanner check for ecm fault code, if check engine light not turning on when you start vechicle could have blowed ecm fuse or wiring problem, could have loose connection at ecm electrical connector or ecm getting poor ground but first check for a defective ecm using a code scanner.

you need to clear the code ,that can only be done with a code reader .the cars ECU the brain still sees that code.so you need to tell it .that code is now gone.
if u have an electronic key than security codes from ur key must be programmed into the ecu to match-- most ecu change overs on cars usually require a trip to the dealer so they can install their programming most auto shops dont have the funds to, or customer base to spend thousands [every auto maker has their own software and update and change every year]-- every year on reprogramming software for ecu-- they may do only 1 or 2 a year
remove the plastic plenham chamber cover (at the base of the windscreen). this is the big cover that hides the battery and brake master cylinder. you will see a plastic box. undo all the screws that hold the lid on and reomove. the screw at the back can only be accessed by popping out a small grommet from under the wiper arm.
the engine ECU and the relay that powers it are both in the box, there will also be some fuses here as well.
hallo remove, clean trottle body. use trottle body cleaner(spray) or nitro and some small brush)It should shine from inside, allso/especialy below the flap (hatch). if you have possibiliti do basic setting (tester). it is not ECU faulty marko
there is a ECU under the carpet on the passneager side ( right hand drive) check ecu for damage( maybe change) check the wires going to the ecu for brecks as well
