Car cranks up but wont fire

I started my car and it ran for a little bit then it just cut off. I tried to crank it up again, and it will crank up but not fire. It did the same thing two weeks ago but eventually started . This time it will not start back up and I dont know what could be the problem. It has new spark plugs and a fuel filter .

With this limited info on vehicle I would remove fuel filter and make sure your pumping fuel to start, then i would check and see if I'm getting spark thru spark plugs. Would help to scan vehicle to look for codes that could point you in the right direction

SOURCE: 98 dode ram wont crank no spark

May have no spark due to a bad crank sensor, which is responsible for spark when it gets a pulse through the cars' computer.

SOURCE: car cranks but has no spark

MOST LIKELY YOU HAVE NO FUEL PRESSURE, THE ELECTRIC PUMP IS DEFECTIVE, IT IS LOCATED INSIDE THE GAS TANK.

1999 eclipse no spark

On the 2.0 and 2.4 engines there is an ignition module that fires the coil from input from the computer and sensors.
You may have to get a shop manual to have the testing procedures needed to check the module.

89 camaro starts wont crank when it does wont idle and dies after 3000 rpm when you hold accelerator

Could be a problem with the pickup coil in the bottom of the distributor if equipped. The pickup coil provides the crank signal for the injectors and ignition module.
Did you clear the code and then 53 came back ?
On most models code 53 means the computer or one of the components is getting over 13 volts.

My 06 pontiac grand prix just cranks and wont start, what could it be

Been a mech for a while, may need a tune up if all original, plugs, wires at the least. Originals are usually good for 100,000 or so. Hope this helps.

1997 chevy 2500 4x4 stumbles

Fuel pump is most likely the cause. Probably just barely making the required pressure to start. Needs to maintain 60-66 psi while cranking to start.

ENGINE WILL RUN FOR ABOUT 5MINUTES THEN STALL...WONT START FOR ABOUT 15MINUTES

The most common faults for those symptoms are:
1/ Fuel pump faulty.
2/ Mass air flow sensor (Between air filter housing and engine)
Let me know with a little more detail about what happens, may be could assist more.
