My friends 1995 toyota camry v6 le seems to have an accelaration issue. The vehicle hesitate on accelarating when the gas is pedal is deprressed so the car jerks a little when you are accelerating from a stop point. I was wandering what is causing that issue and how to solve it.

Could be caused by a severely clogged air filter, gas filter or a failed throttle position sensor.

remove the panel under your dash and follow the gas pedal to the point that it meets a metal wire. be sure this wire is taunt.

Check the line coming in thru the firewall to the accelarator pedal, reconnect if broke. also Throttle position sensor could be problem

The timing belt is one tooth off. Pull the covers back off, set the engine to TDC and recheck your marks, and make sure that the tension is correct.

it could be your fuel filter clogged and/or fuel pump getting weak ... does it back fire ?
