Have you had the electronic engine control system scanned/tested for fault codes? it will need to be scanned to obtain the fault codes, this testing is key to finding out what the problem may be that is causing the engine to stall. The fault code test can be done free of charge by any Autozone auto parts store, Aamco transmission or Kragen/Oriley auto parts store. Ask for a "OBD2" (on board diagnostics generation 2) fault code test.
i have a code checker and it didnt have any, if i let it sit for an hour or so it tries to start but it just wont catch
You have a few possibility's here, one the code reader you are using is defective or the data link connector has no power. Next would be the electric fuel pump is going out and it stops running when hot, then once it cools down it will start again, have seen this more than once. Last is that the PCM (computer control) is failing when its internal component's heat up, that is the least likely. I do believe at this point you should seek the help of a local Dealer service dept.
thanks for the quick response...i know the obd2 is good ..i tried it on my other car...now i let it sit for a whole day and it still wont fire but it tries once then just cranks
When you say you checked the OBD2 on your other car what do you mean exactly, OBD2 is a system, it is not a part like a O2 sensor or Throttle position sensor, all these sensors provide input to the OBD2 systems control computer referred to as the PCM (powertrain control module) So did you check for fault codes before you disconnected anything? Do you hear the fuel pump run for about 1 second when you turn the ignition key to run? You can easily here this at an open gas cap, it is a low hum.
