My ignition was ripped out as someone tried to drive away in my Neon 2002. Tried to put the ignion back in in order to restart the car. It didn't work so good so I tried starting with a screw driver. It started and it died. Tried again with the (transponder) key by reinserting the metal round ignition part into the plastic housing (which is half broken off)but now doesn't turn over any more and theft light comes on. What's next???

If the battery is dead, the shift interlock solenoid will not disengage the gear shift mechanism. You have to have sufficient current through the brake switch to disengage the interlock. Charging or replacing the battery should do it. Hope this helps

Replaced Problem Solved. What Is Happening Is Your Key Has A Chip And That Chip Is A Resister And When The Valve Is Not Sented To The Computer It Disengages the Fuel Pump And Than Tells You To Wait. Soon All That Will Happen Is You Will Get The Wait 3 Mins And It Will Never Start, A Good Locksmith Can Take Care Of This For You And That Will Save You Some Money. Cause If You Go To The Dealer Ouch They Will Hit You Up. But I Asure This Is How It Will Happen Cause It Is How It Happen To Me

Body Control Module (BCM) on both counts. Find a shop in your town that specializes in electrical systems to test it. Beware, these can be intermittent problems, so make sure they keep it until the car does what you have observed. Expect to spend about $450 for the replacment. Dealers quoted me between $700 and $1,100 for the same repair. By the way, a new BCM will probably only last you about 12 months.

Sounds like you are having a fuel problem with the fuel filter. If you have not had your car serviced in quite awhile i would do so. At least change the fuel filter and check the air filter as well. Hope thias will help you.
