1988 jimmy gmc 2.8 v6 wont turn on when hot after turning it off its at least another 1 hour wait before it will start. i have replaced the engine and distubeters. along with the fuel pump and rods.

alot of info to go off of. It could be one of the following simple problems. Low coolant due to small leak on pump or hose. Busted water pump shaft so pump not working. Faulty thermostate. If all I've stated seems like a forgein laguange to you, take it to a shop.

replace the fuel pump relay, it is burned closed from the shorted fuel pump.

i had the same problem and replaced the fuel pressure regulator. Cost about $45 at advance auto store or about $90 at napa auto stores. Once i replace that my truck started right yup and runs like a champ
